Building a Site is Easy - Viral Site Traffic is Not!

Let's face it, how many of us have had the illusion that all we need to do is build a website, put it on the internet and the money will start rolling in. Guilty as charged, took me a while to realize that building the web page was actually the easy part and just the beginning of a long and sometimes difficult process. As with anything else we do in life, before we can run we must learn how to crawl than walk.

Getting good SEO in a very saturated internet market keeps getting more and more difficult to do, unless you can find a niche that is not over saturated. Equally important, is having good keywords that pay out well. The reason this is so important is when someone does inadvertently stumble upon your site and clicks on one of your ads, you actually get paid more than a few cents. Never mind your site going viral, this is every web designers dream and it will probably not happen unless you are either extremely lucky, or you work very hard and put a lot of effort into promoting your site.

Recently I found a tool called ExitFire that you may want to add to your web tool chest. ExitFire will help you get more website traffic by popping up a small popup window whenever someone decides to leave your site. It gives your visitors one last opportunity to click a button. If they agree, this sends them to a pool of links and your site is among this pool along with other websites. This gives you a credit towards another visitor from someone leaving. When you have 10 credits you get one new visitor referred to your site.

This is done very simply by pasting a small piece of java script code right after the <body> tag on your website. To get this code all you need to do is create a free account, sign in and create a link to your site[s]. This service is free, even though they do try to sell you on their platinum package, you don't need to buy anything to join. Just click "No Thanks take me to the members area" twice. Once in the members area, just add the links for your site[s] and copy the single line of code and paste it into your web site page. (Best not to use it on a page where you use google ads or it will stop them when they click on the ad with a pop up) In the members area there is a small stats panel to show you how many times the popup script activated by someone clicked the link. This gives you credits and the stats panel will show you how many credits you have.

Exitfire claims it will help your site go viral. This is a large claim but you never know, because in time a drop can turn into a trickle, and a trickle can turn into a stream of new visitors. Method 2 - Add Even More Traffic Free!

This is another free site I found, and from what I have read it is said to work to get traffic to your site, blog or hub.   Who can say no to 1,000,000 visitors a month? I would settle for an extra 100 and since it is free it may be worth trying.
